RADIUM GIRLS - Glens Falls Community Theater


Seeking one male actor, age range 25-50, to play multiple roles in "Radium
Girls" to be produced by Glens Falls Community Theater at the Charles R.
Wood Theater in Glens Falls May 5th-8th, 2022. Rehearsals start on March
28th and will run Monday through Thursday evenings from 7 to 9:30 pm at
Triads Music Center in Hudson Falls.

"Radium Girls” is inspired by a true story and though it is set from
1918-1928, it has a powerful and relevant message for today—that fighting
against inequality never stops. It presents the story of female factory
workers who contracted radiation poisoning from painting watch dials with
self-luminous paint. The Radium Girls of the 1920s changed the course of
occupational disease labor law. These glowing young women brought about the
first case in which an employer was held responsible for the health of its
employees and laid the groundwork for organizations like OSHA, protecting
many more millions of workers.
