Cast needed for the final show of the Theater Voices 2022-23 season!

Theater Voices announces auditions for a staged reading of "Assisted Living"

Auditions:
Wednesday, April 12, 6-8 p.m.

Location: Auditions will be held at the studio of Creative Action Unlimited (https://theatervoices.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=179fc2d99a77a0bfad410514e&id=abead65df8&e=1b69764d6b) at 6 Greenwood Dr., East Greenbush (see COVID-19 safety notes below). Please arrive by 6 p.m.

Performances: Friday, May 19 through Sunday, May 21 at Steamer No. 10 Theatre (https://theatervoices.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=179fc2d99a77a0bfad410514e&id=1126343bcb&e=1b69764d6b)  in Albany. Actors cast must be available for all performances, including a Saturday matinee, and for tech rehearsals in the week leading up to opening.

Casting for four roles:
* Anne: Primary caretaker of her elderly mother. Worn out, sarcastic, doing too much with too little help.

* Levi: New home caretaker for Anne and Jimmy's elderly mother. A naive romantic, attracted to Anne.

* Jimmy: Anne's brother. Has made a number of poor self-centered decisions and defends them with vigor.

* Christina: Jimmy's 8-month pregnant girlfriend. Not terribly bright but doing her best.

All four characters range in age from mid-20s to early 40s.

The story:
Anne Kelly needs help. She’s pushing forty and still lives with her mother. Her deadbeat brother won’t return her calls, and the ancient family home seems to be falling down around her. When a younger man with a troubled past comes into her life, Anne begins to see the upside of not always being the grown-up. Assisted Living is a funny and surprising look at the struggle to discover where our families end and we begin.

COVID-19 safety notes:
Masks are optional at auditions and rehearsals, but all those using Creative Action Unlimited studio space must be fully vaccinated.
