Worried you missed your chance to audition for Confetti Fest XIX? Guess
again! Confetti Stage is offering one more chance to audition on Monday,
August 28 at 6:30 PM.
Confetti Fest XIX, the nineteenth iteration of the Capital Region’s longest
running festival of locally written one-act plays, consists of...
“The Irish Play” by William Daisak
Directed by Criss Macaione-Bilodeau
Brendan, an Irish playwright, is excited that his play will be opening in
New York, and meets up with the director. But he soon finds that the
director’s vision of the play is very different than Brendan’s
sophisticated modern Irish drama. Instead, it is slated for step dancing,
heavy drinking, brawls, and maybe even an appearance by
Celtic Women. Plus, it might be set in Scotland, but at this point, who
cares?
Director: Male, any age and appearance to suggest a successful NY theater
director
Brendan: Male, 20s to 30s, a playwright from Ireland, Irish accent
Adelheid: Female, 40s to 60s, German accent
Pierre: Male, same age approximately as Adelheid, French accent
“The Other Paris” by Matt Reichel
Directed by Rachel Bratager
When their sister unexpectedly dies, Audrey and Sophie are tasked with
fulfilling her dying wish to be thrown from the top of the Eiffel Tower.
The only problem: their sister never specified which one.
Audrey: a woman in her 30s, the younger sibling, but not by much.
Sophie: a woman in her 30s, the eldest.
Concierge: a hotel employee, played by anyone.
“Christmas Newsletter” by Peter Marino
Directed by Tara McCormick Hostash
RALPH SMITH is assigned the task of writing the family holiday newsletter
this year. The temptation to spill his many secrets in an authentic but
brutal Christmas message may overpower him.
RALPH SMITH: 50 years old; conservatively dressed; he is played by 3
different actors. There are no restrictions on casting as far as actors'
gender identification or ethnic origin as long as each actor inhabits the
spirit of the character.
“Last Stop” by Vincent Lounello and Sean T. Baldwin
Directed by Marissa Lounello
Three newly departed souls arrive in Heaven where they meet Lilith,
Lucifer, and God. All of them learn the divine are not quite what they
expected, and that death was not the end of their journey.
David: A man in his 30s. New arrival in Heaven.
Aleah: A woman 20s to 40s. New arrival in Heaven.
Chardonnay: Any identity 20s to 40s. New arrival in Heaven.
God: A man, any age.
Lilith: A woman, any age. God’s “secretary” and first woman of Eden.
Lucifer: Any identity and any age. The devil.
