Announcing auditions for Bunbury Players’ production of
*Twelfth Night*
by William Shakespeare
Directed by Sean T. Baldwin
All roles are open to performers of all ages, ethnicities, and gender
identities.
Viola — An aristocratic young woman. Following a shipwreck, she disguises
herself as a young woman named Cesario and goes to work for Duke Orsino,
with whom she falls in love.
Orsino — A self-absorbed Illyrian nobleman. Hopelessly in love with Olivia,
but slowly finding himself more drawn to his new page, Cesario.
Olivia — An Illyrian noblewoman who has recently lost her father and
brother. She spurns the advances of both Orsino and Sir Andrew Aguecheek
and also finds herself drawn to Cesario.
Sebastian — Viola's long-lost twin brother. Upon his arrival in Illyria, he
is quickly mistaken for Cesario.
*Malvolio* — The strict, self-righteous, and social climbing steward in
Olivia's household. He detests anything fun.
Feste — The clown of Olivia's household. He's probably the wisest character
in the play.
Sir Toby Belch — Olivia's uncle. He is often drunk or hungover and enjoys a
good joke at the expense of Malvolio or Sir Andrew Aguecheek. He ultimately
finds a friend and partner in Maria.
Maria — Olivia's lady-in-waiting. She dreams of rising above her class and
takes joy in ribbing Sir Toby and Malvolio.
Sir Andrew Aguecheek — Sir Toby's friend. A foppish idiot who thinks he is
far more desirable and competent than he is.
Antonio — Sebastian's travel companion. He rescued Sebastian and cared for
him, and appears to have fallen in love with him.
