We are less than ONE month away from AUDITIONS for CDAI Productions' Immersive Version of RENT at Lark Hall! Reserved slots are running out! March 15th will be your LAST chance to get pre-registered for auditions and reserve your spot. Don’t worry, walk-ins are still welcome, but why get stuck waiting, when you can guarantee your time slot NOW! 

The way it works: YOU pick your audition day, and time preference, and one week prior to auditions you will receive an email confirmation with your day, and SET time to arrive. You’ll come in sing, and go! Efficiency and professionalism are key qualities at CDAI Productions. If you don’t plan to pre-register, please plan to arrive at the sign in time of 6:30PM for in person registration, and you’ll be seen AFTER all scheduled appointments have occurred. The Capital District Arts Initiative (CDAI) is thrilled to announce auditions for:

Jonathan Larson’s,
RENT 

Produced and Choreographed by: Corey John Snide

Director: Francesco C. Archina 

Co-Producer: Jenna Snide

Musical Director: Cameron Clarke Stevens 

Stage Manager: Sara Fredericks 
 
RENT is a rock opera with music, lyrics, and book by Jonathan Larson. Loosely based on Giacomo Puccini’s 1896 opera La Bohème, it tells the story of a group of impoverished, young artists struggling to survive and create a life in Lower Manhattan’s East Village. Set in the thriving days of the bohemian Alphabet City, under the shadow of the HIV/AIDS crisis. 

This CDAI production of RENT will be staged in a completely immersive environment, where the actors will move in and around the audience. The show taking place in a live bar and concert space, rather than a traditional theatrical stage, highlights the shows innovative, bohemian energy and invites the audience to be a part of the us in the shows famous line, “There’s only us.”
