Seeking Union or Non-Union actor to play the ghost of Legs Diamond for the theatre’s October Ghost Tour, done in collaboration with Discover Albany.


This walking ghost tour, led by a docent from Discover Albany, takes patrons on a winding tour of downtown Albany where they are regaled with the history of several landmarks - and individuals (many of whom just happen to make an appearance while their story is being told) – that make up the city’s history.

Each ghost selected to appear on the tour “has been sighted” in the Capital City.

Seeking (1) Male/Male Presenting Actor; 30’s; to portray Jack “Legs” Diamond; the infamous bootlegger and Irish American gangster who rose to power during the Prohibition era. Legs led a flamboyant lifestyle and was considered to be an extremely dapper gentlemen – who also had an uncanny ability to outrun law enforcement. The gangster met his demise at 67 Dove Street, in Albany, NY.


Tour Details:

The tour will take place on several Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays throughout October (all tour dates as follows: 10/4, 10/6, 10/7, 10/11, 10/14, 10/17, 10/18, 10/21, 10/24, 10/25, and 10/27)

Fittings and One Zoom Rehearsal week of 9/18-22

One Dress Rehearsal week of 9/25-29

Rain Date: Sunday, 10/29

Call time is 6:30pm for 7pm tours (the full tour is about an hour)

Fee: $700.00 for the run; and Parking is covered by Discover Albany (in the lot behind the Pump Station)


Interested actors must be available for all of the tour dates, and should send their picture and resume to casting at capitalrep.org by EOD, Friday, September 15, 2023.
