Seeking a Costume Designer, Lighting Designer, and Set Designer for two main stage productions: The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde and The Thanksgiving Play by Larissa Fasthorse.


The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde

First Rehearsal: 6/10/24

Tech: 7/2-7/10
Opens: 7/11

Closes:7/28
Strike: 7/29
Performances: Thursday – Saturday 7:30pm and Sunday matinees 2pm + extra Saturday matinee 7/27

INTERVIEWS

Will be in NYC and Kingston, NY.


Fee

$1,900 for one show or both shows fee is $3,800.


Housing/Transportation

For out-of-town designers housing is provided as well as transportation.


QUALIFICATIONS

-Candidate will have a college degree in Theater or equivalent experience.

-Candidate will have a minimum of two years-experience as a Set Designer, Costume Designer, or Lighting Designer.

-Driver’s license and/or owning a car is a plus.

Voice Theatre Description

Since 1988 Voice Theatre, (VT), has performed in the UK, Germany, France, the Middle East, NYC and thru-out the US. VT recently renovated and installed heating & air-conditioning in the historic 100-seat Bethany Hall Theater which now serves as the company home. VT is a rapidly growing company with national and international exposure. The 2024 season consists of two main stage productions; The Importance of Being Ernest and The Thanksgiving Play, the 7th Annual Spring Reading Series and in July VT will once again offer the Summer Youth Program. We continue to offer free workshops for BIPOC students and undocumented, unaccompanied refugee teens. VT has implemented numerous Arts in Education programs combating racism, exclusion, and bullying in Detroit-MI, NYC, Hannover-Germany, London-UK, Ramallah-Palestine among many other cities and countries.
