Rehearsal space in the Wilton Mall

On Sunday September 22
and Monday September 23
7.00-9.00 p.m.

Performances will take place in the Saratoga Music Hall
Feb 28, March 1, 2 & 7, 8, 9. 2025

Actors will read from sides.
The Script will be available on the Home Made Theater website.

Casting will not be gender, race or age specific.

Hamlet: a Prince struggling with grief after the death of his father King
Hamlet. A university student, charming, funny, does not suffer fools
gladly. A fine actor(convinces his entire family and the Danish Court. That
he has lost his marbles). Intelligent, introspective, questions…..
everything.

Claudius: Hamlet’s uncle, now King, and loving husband to his brother’s
widow.

Devious, dangerous, can be charming when he needs to be.

Polonius. Chamberlain to the King. Well meaning, if overbearing father to
Laertes and Ophelia. Loquacious, rather too pleased with his importance,
and his opinions.

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern: Hamlet’s childhood friends. Two ‘yes men’
Hamlet describes as ‘tedious’. They are gormless, humorless, gullible, not
evil, but prefer to let those in power do their thinking for them.

Osric: A young noble from the countryside, unaccustomed to courtly
etiquette. An object of ridicule for Hamlet and Horatio. (Doubles as

Player King: Principal actor of the Tragedians of the City. Plays Gonzago
in The Murder of Gonzago. Dignified, a strong prescence, ability to cry
real tears a plus. (Doubles as a member of the  court) (Doubles as
Gravedigger)


Player Queen: Leading lady of the Tragedians of the City. Plays Baptista in The
Murder of Gonzago. (Doubles as a member of the court)


Player: younger member of the Tragedians of the City. Plays Lucianus and
Prologue in The Murder of Gonzago. (also doubles as a member of the court)
(Doubles as second Clown).
