*The story:*
Young Don Baker has been blind since birth, his overprotective mother
following his every move. At long last, he decides to take his own
apartment in Manhattan to pursue his songwriting ambitions. When Mrs. Baker
meets his sexy, kooky actress neighbor Jill, her controlling instincts go
into overdrive, with hilariously touching results.

Auditions will be held *Monday, April 28*, *6-9 p.m. *at the Creative

*Production dates:*
"Butterflies are Free" will be performed as a staged reading, with four
performances over the weekend of *May 16-18* at Steamer No. 10 Theatre

Performance
times are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. plus Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and
Sunday at 4 p.m. (note special Sunday performance time).

All actors must be available for performances, plus tech week (5/11-15).
Please bring information about schedule conflicts to the auditions.

*Seeking:*

   - *Don Baker *(early 20s): a blind, attractive, young man and aspiring
   songwriter.
   - *Mrs. Baker (*40s - 50s): Don’s mother; over-protective. Upscale from
   Scarsdale.
   - *Ralph Austin *(20s - early 30s): a theater director, charming.

The role of *Jill Tanner* has been cast.
