[Capdist-auditions] Writers, Directors, and Actors Needed for "48 Hours to Curtain"

Calling writers, directors, and actors! Confetti Stage needs your help for
“Pencils Down, Lights Up: 48 Hours to Curtain.” Between Friday, March 28
and Sunday, March 30, we plan to write, stage, and perform a series of one
act plays. It will be just 48 hours from the writers’ prompt to the final
bow. After producers split participants into groups of 1 writer, 1
director, and 1 small cast… - Writers will receive a prompt, which they
will use to write a brand new short one act script for a small group of
actors. - Directors will lead the action, running rehearsal and blocking
and staging the script. - Actors rehearse and prepare for the final
performance, book in hand or otherwise. Here’s the schedule: Friday, March
28 - 6 PM - Gathering at the Albany Masonic Temple to meet, be separated
into teams, go over the rules, tour the space, and socialize. - 7 PM – The
project begins! Writing prompts are announced. The writers get to work.
Saturday, March 29 - 3 PM - Pencils down! Whatever writers have submitted
by this deadline will be what goes onstage. Producers review the scripts. -
4 PM - Scripts go out to their respective teams. Rehearsals may begin. - 9
PM - The temple closes for the evening. Sunday, March 30 - 9 AM - The
temple opens. Rehearsals resume. - 9 AM - 4 PM - Rehearsals. Each team will
be assigned time to tech and rehearse in the performance space. - 4 PM -
Run-through of the full show. - 5 PM - Break for dinner - 6 PM - Return to
theatre. Doors open. - 7 PM - Book in hand (or not), showtime! Basic light
and sound setup and technical guidance will be provided. Confetti’s
costumes and props will also be available for use. The opening gathering
will take place at the Albany Masonic Temple at 6 PM on Friday, March 28 at
the Albany Masonic Temple, 67 Corning Place, Albany, NY 12207. The
pay-what-you-will performance will be at 7 PM on Sunday March 30 at the

to sign up, and indicate whether you want to write, act, or direct.
Volunteers will be limited to one of the three roles. There are limited
openings for writers and directors which will be filled on a first come,
first served basis. Please sign up by March 21. All actors will be notified
of their acceptance immediately.

After March 21, directors and writers will be notified. Should we have more
volunteers for directors and writers than necessary, those extra volunteers
will be invited to join the project as actors. Get those pencils ready; the
clock’s about to start!
