Synopsis: Carlo crashes her ex’s wedding with three simple goals: Don’t get
drunk. Don’t make any kids cry. Don’t try to win back the bride, no matter
how boring the groom is. A very, very funny play about loneliness,
estrangement, and a slow-burn romance with being alive. At the Wedding’ is
a comedy for anyone who has ever watched their happy ending evaporate in a
cloud of smoke and live to tell the tale.

Preparation: Actors will read from sides provided at the auditions. Sides
available in advance, please email the director 2cgoster2 at gmail.com Please
bring conflicts for late April-June 15

"The play is sharp, deft, and sometimes you won't know you're cut until you
see the blood. There were Boomers in front of me, Gen Jones, Gen X, and
Millenials all around, each barking unbidden laughter at different moments.
And at times, an intake of air when someone has an epiphany...And
afterward, a finale that sends us out into the balmy vernal evening with a
feeling of satisfaction and a sense of wanting to see the play again. It's
a lot of oomph in a small space and it's here and queer, so get your
tickets before they sell out. It's a gift you do need to register for, that
will continue to give."-Sherri Rase, Q Onstage

Other Dates: Rehearsals begin April 28
Preview performance June 5
*At the Wedding* will be promoted at Pride 6/9
& at Capital Region Festival of Theatre 6/12-6/15

Harbinger and SLCA-CTP are committed to diversity and encourage performers
of all ethnicities, gender identities, as well as performers with
disabilities, to audition.

SEEKING THE FOLLOWING ROLES:
CARLO (30s, Identifies female) – A lesbian who masks her pain with an
outrageous sense of humor; someone you’re drawn toward and terrified of in
equal measure. She's great at dispensing advice but incapable of receiving
it. She has come to her ex's wedding to a straight man, hell bent
on...something, but she's not sure what. She might be trying to save you,
or destroy you-- or both. Anything to keep you distracted from focusing on
her true feelings. Self-sabotaging. Trying hard, but failing to keep her
emotions at bay.

ELI – (30s, Identifies male) – A straight man in a floral shirt; a
romantic, sensitive and earnest to an unwise degree. A high-school English
teacher who's been through his fair share of therapy. Ready to propose to
his long-term girlfriend.

VICTOR - (20s-40s Identifies male) Annoyed cater-waiter—this is only his
day job. Can throw shade with just a look. Has a boyfriend

CARLY (30s, Identifies female) – A heterosexual, devoted bridesmaid with a
master’s degree in passive aggressive communication. She has a long history
with both Eva and Carlo. She's armed with a withering smile. Takes her role
in the wedding very seriously.

MARIA (60s, Identifies female) – Mother-of-the-bride; First Wives Club
meets ex-Berkeley hippie; a more deeply pickled form of Carlo, she has a
biting wit. She has not been invited to participate in many aspects of the
wedding due to her unpredictable nature and tendency to speak her mind and
is avoiding her ex-husband and his date by hanging out at the bar. She and
Carlo get along like a house on fire.

LEIGH (late 20’s - 30s, Identifies female or non-binary) – Seductive and
hip; someone who comes on strong without being cheesy or creepy. A queer
graphic designer with great eyebrows. Leigh has a direct and penetrating
gaze which promises a good time.

EVA (30s, Identifies female) – The bride; Carlo's ex. She is generous and
kind but sees through the bullshit; someone who tells the truth well. She
knows when to play and when to get serious. Actors do not necessarily need
to be that ages indicated but should be able to portray the characters at
these ages.

Cautions • Alcohol • Strong Language • Adult Themes Thank you for your
