Clifton Park: Not So Common Players presents Red, Hot and Cole.
Performances are: October 26, 27, 28 & November 2, 3, 4 at the
Shenendehowa HS Little Theater. Friday and Saturday @ 8PM; Sunday
matinee at 2PM  Free Musical Theater Sponsored by The Town of Clifton
Park
 
Red, Hot & Cole directed by Alan Angelo with musical direction by Vince
Bonnefede  bubbles with songs that have become international standards,
from such classic shows and movies as Anything Goes, Kiss Me Kate, High
Society and Can-Can. It traces Porter's life from his childhood in
Indiana to the stages and penthouses of New York, London, Paris and
Venice. Song highlights include "I Get a Kick Out of You," "Let's
Misbehave," "In the Still of the Night," "It's De-Lovely," "Begin the
Beguine" and "Friendship."
 
What a swell party this is!  A scintillating mixture of biography and
song. celebrate the  rich, masterful genius of Cole Porter who brought
style, elegance and sophistication to the world with his devilishly
clever rhymes, fresh and unexpected melodies and sassy, sexy
sensibility. 
 
A cast of 14 portray characters and friends of Cole Porter whose
namesare familiar to most:  Clifton Webb, George Kaufman, Sam Katz, Noel
Coward, Moss Hart. Monty Wolley, Elsa Maxwell, Ethel Merman, Irene
Castle, Hedda Hopper, Dorothy Parker and a host of others.  Playing the
master himself, Cole Porter is Dennis Chmura.  Others include: Bill and
Suzanne Baetz, Amy Birchler, John Burke, Naomi Butner, Monica Cangero,
Margot Philips, Peter Hill, Jeff Hocking, Lauren Kerr and Jon South.
