This Saturday, September 29. 2007, Schenectady Civic Players kicks off its  
80th anniversary season by hosting an open house from 12 to 4 culminating with 
a  staged reading of Anton Chekhov's one Act play  - The Proposal - at 4:30  
PM.  The Proposal was the first production ever done at SCP in 1927;  what a 
more fitting way to celebrate 80 years of theater!  Immediately  after the show, 
there will be a champagne and cake reception.
