The New York State Theatre Institute's ( NYSTI) Summer Theatre Institute program will hold its first round of auditions for prospective high school and college-age participants on Saturday, April 26 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM in the Schacht Fine Arts Center on the Russell Sage Campus in Troy.  Interested singer-actors should contact John McGuire, Director of NYSTI's Summer Theatre Institute at (518) 274-3754 to make arrangements to audition and learn what preparation is needed.

Summer Theatre Institute, NYSTI's long-established program for advanced training and performance will be held for four weeks, from July 21 through August 16 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.  The program provides professional training in acting, singing, and dance, and rehearses a fully staged, professionally directed musical production that performs for the public on the last weekend of the program.  This year's production is the musical, "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factor"y.  The production will be directed by John McGuire, founding member of the NYSTI company.

Tuition for the full four-week program is $700.  The deadline for application is May 1, 2008.  All applicants are required to participate in an audition and interview.
