This is the last weekend for The Ghent Playhouse's production of "Clue - The Musical"
Will it turn out to be Mrs. Peacock
with the revolver in the conservatory? How about Mr. Green with the knife in the billiard room? Or maybe Miss Scarlet with the
candlestick in the ballroom? There are 216 possible scenarios
when the evil Mr. Boddy is murdered somewhere in his mansion by one of the
people who have good reason to loathe him.
Based on the popular board game,
this is an audience participation show for people of all ages. The familiar Clue characters in their
colorful costumes introduce themselves, and then Mr. Boddy asks volunteers from
the audience to pick an oversized card from each of three groups spread
face-down onstage: the murderer, the
weapon and the room in which the crime takes place.
After looking at them he places the
chosen cards in a prominently displayed envelope marked "Confidential"
and prepares to meet his fate. The
audience plays along as a hard-boiled detective summoned to the crime scene
grills the tuneful but less than cooperative suspects to find out whodunit,
where, and with which weapon.
In this production, Mr. Boddy is
played by Rod Ferrone, Mrs. Peacock
by Johnna Murray, Professor Plum by Ed Martin, Miss Scarlet by Stephanie
Tanaka, Colonel Mustard by Tracy Trimm, Mrs. White (traditionally a man's role)
by Mark Schane-Lydon, Mr. Green by Louis Mayerson and the detective by Cathy
Lee-Visscher.
Performances of "Clue – the Musical" are Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. and Sunday afternoons at 2
p.m. Tickets are $15, $12 for members. The show is directed by Michael
Mensching with musical direction by Cathy
Schane-Lydon. The Ghent
Playhouse is located on the corner of Route 66 and Town Hall Place in Ghent New
York. For more information please visit www.ghentplayhouse.org or call
