Hello,
Confetti Stage, Inc, Theatre Without Limits, is pleased to announce
its 28th production and the 1st production of its 5th Anniversary
Season, A Thousand Clowns, by Herb Gardner.
This American Classic received rave reviews when it first opened on
Broadway in 1962. It was nominated for the Tony Award* for Best Play
in 1963.
The story revolves around Murray Burns, an unemployed television
comedy writer, who shares his one bedroom cluttered New York City
apartment with his 12-year-old nephew, Nick, who was abandoned by
Murray's sister seven years earlier. Murray has been unemployed for
five months after walking out on his previous job of writing jokes for
the Chuckles the Chipmunk show. When Nick writes a school assignment
on the benefits of the unemployment system which is based on his home
surroundings, some of what he writes brings about an investigation by
the Child Welfare Bureau. Murray is given the option of finding a job
or losing custody of his nephew. Although Murray tries to avoid
returning to work, he must swallow his dignity and fulfill his
responsibilities as guardian if he wants to keep Nick.
A Thousand Clowns is directed by Liana Martino. The cast features

Herbstritt, Ron Pucherelli, and Barry Streifert.
