November 5 - December 17, 2010

SPONTANEOUS BROADWAY
Special Performance December 10

SCHENECTADY --- Audiences at MopCo's "Spontaneous Broadway" are well used to
writing fake checks at the end of Act I to pick their favorite improvised
musical number. The winning number serves as the basis for Act II, a
45-minute musical complete with costumes, entirely improvised. At the Dec.
10th show, MopCo invites the audience to bring REAL checks, for a very
special purpose.

"Spontaneous Broadway", the entirely improvised musical format, is returning
to the Capital District, running November 5 thru December 17 in Underground
at Proctors (432 State St, Schenectady.)

"People flip out." says Koppett. "They can't believe what they are seeing.
This is improv theatre at its high-wire best."

Special Dec 10th Performance Details:
Piper Prouty is a two and a half year old girl who lives in the Capital
District. When Piper was in utero, she suffered a massive stroke. Since
birth, she has had three surgeries for her multiple health problems
including cerebral palsy. Piper has a fantastic outlook and is a very brave
little girl; still, little Piper needs some medical equipment that her
parents can't afford.

So, MopCo is asking its Dec. 10th audience to help out. A portion of ticket
sales will go to the Piper Prouty fund, as will 100% of audience donations
made that evening. Mick Treadwell says: "It's all about the love, folks."

Spontaneous Broadway Setup: Mick Treadwell, famous Broadway producer
(Michael Burns) has invited his investors (the audience) to a "Backers'
Audition" to help him decide which new musical to produce. After providing
the fodder for a number of improvised songs and musical set-ups, the
audience votes on which musical they would like to see. In the second act,
the cast performs the chosen musical, complete with costumes, sets,
choreography and a reprise of the chosen song.
