"A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM" - PERFORMANCE THIS SATURDAY, OCT. 28 AT 11AM

Capital Repertory Theatre announced today the fall schedule of performances
for A Midsummer Night's Dream, a special 70-minute version Shakespeare's
popular comedy especially adapted for young audiences. The production
launches the 12th year of Capital Rep's On the Go school tours, which brings
curriculum-based theatre works directly into schools across the Capital
Region. One of Shakespeare's most popular and oft-performed plays, A
Midsummer Night's Dream is a lighthearted romantic comedy that blurs the
line between fantasy and reality. In an Athenian forest, forbidden lovers,
quarrelling fairies and a group of slow-witted laborers all become the foils
of the mischievous imp Puck and his magical love potion. The school tour
runs from October 12 -29 and concludes with a public performance on
Saturday, October 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Capital Repertory Theatre located at
111 North Pearl Street in downtown Albany. Tickets are $10 for students and
$15 for adults and available by calling 518-445-SHOW (7469).

"We chose William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream as this year's
school touring production for two reasons. First, we try to select plays
that support the curriculum being taught in the schools - a well-rounded
education must have a strong foundation in both modern and classical
literature. Second, Shakespeare's plays illuminate the human experience.
His works stand the test of time because they are universal, and the issues
and situations in the plays relate to many issues and concerns faced today,"
states Laura Andruski, Capital Rep's Education Coordinator and Director of
the production.

Ms. Andruski, whose work has been seen in numerous theatres in the Capital
Region, brings more than 25 years theatrical experience to the production,
including producing and directing a variety of plays and co-authoring
musicals for young audiences, such as The Snow Queen and Puss in Boots.

The lively 70-minute rendition of Shakespeare's robust comedy will be
presented by a cast of five actors, who will perform 15 different roles. The
cast includes community veteran favorites, Kevin Craig West, Stephen
Pelletier, Brenny Rabine and newcomer Hillary Parker.

Sixteen-year old, Liam Calvin Bobersky, a student at The Adirondack School
in Greenwich, plays the role of Puck, the mischievous fairy whose pranks
cause mayhem among the lovers and hilarious consequences among the
mechanical acting troupe when their leading player, Bottom, is transformed
into a donkey. MIDSUMMER marks Mr. Bobersky's debut with Capital Rep.

Hillary Parker, who plays the roles of Helena, Titania, Egeus and Snug,
makes her Capital Region debut as well. Ms. Parker has worked regionally
with Connecticut Rep, Peterborough Players, Mt. Washington Valley Theatre
and Hope Summer Rep where she played Titania and Hippolyta in A Midsummer
Night's Dream.

Returning to Capital Rep after playing Abukuk Pritchard in last season's
highly successful On the Go premiere of The Remarkable and Perplexing Case
of Henry H, Stephen Pelletier will assume the roles of Demetrius and Bottom,
the weaver, who is changed into his animal alter-ego, a donkey, by the
playful Puck. Pelletier's other Capital Rep credits include an understudy in
the holiday show Greetings and the beggar in The Cherry Orchard.

Brenny Rabine plays the roles of Hermia and Quince. Ms. Rabine's Capital Rep
credits include Catherine in Boston Marriage and most recently as Jean
Louise in To Kill a Mockingbird last March among other regional appearances.

Rounding out the cast, Kevin Craig West will play the roles of Lysander,
Oberon and Flute. No stranger to the Capital Rep stage, Mr. West has
appeared in Metamorphoses, Take Me Out and was most recently in last
spring's To Kill a Mockingbird as Reverend Sykes. He is an award winning
filmmaker and decade long teaching artist with Symphony Space.
