Greetings from the Steamer No. 10 Theatre! <http://207.56.204.165/>
The Last Weekend for The
<http://steamer10theatre.org/Pages/KidsFarePages/TheLastDragon.htm> Last
Dragon!
When a Prince and Princess are to be married, the Prince always slays a
dragon to save the Princess. It's Tradition! But this dragon is the last
dragon, with no interest in eating Princesses. And the Princess can handle a
sword better than any Prince around. perhaps it's the dragon that needs to
be saved, not the Princess? Our adaptation is a whimsical take which serves
a catalyst for discussion about the value of, and reasons for, traditions,
with some wonder and laughter along the way.
It's a brand new Steamer No. 10 Kids' Fare Production, based on Edith
Nesbitt's charming short story The Last of the Dragons. Ric Chesser's
adaptation has been developed in rehearsal by director Eric Rose and cast
members Suzie Dunn, Jayton London, and Heidi Nathanielsz. The Dragon has
been constructed by sculptor and mask maker Jeff Brower. The show runs
approximately 35 minutes and is followed by a brief demonstration of the
dragon puppetry.
Performances are Saturday, January 29th, at 3 pm and Sunday, January
30th, at 11 am and 3 pm. For
