(Cambridge, NY September 20, 2011) Mime is the expression of objects, actions and emotions through the use of the body. Mime is not only a wonderful unique art form in itself, but also a valuable tool used in other expressions (such as acting, dance…even riding horses!) through the study of balance, isolations and separations of the body.


 
Hubbard Hall Projects is offering a two-part workshop, The Magic of Mime, taught by Liz Caspari on Saturday, September 24 and Saturday, October 1 from 1:00pm to 2:30pm. The class will include warm-up exercises, exploration of illusions through isolations, separations and imagery work as well as group improvisation exercises. Open to ages 10 to adult (younger students by permission of instructor). Cost for the program is $20 per session ($18 for members). Liz Caspari trained with the incredible mime Tony Montanaro and performed throughout the East with mime trio Mimika. She has taught mime to various age groups, has acted with the Theatre Company at Hubbard Hall, and danced with Heidi Knecht-Seegers’ jazz class. Liz teaches and trains dressage at her Dances with Horses Farm outside of Cambridge, and freelance.
