National Museum of Dance Hosted New York City Ballet Autograph Signing
 
On Saturday, July 14 the National Museum of Dance hosted a Meet and Greet
and autograph signing with 3 of the most popular and well-known principal
dancers of New York City Ballet. Eager dance fans of all ages arrived over
an hour early to visit the museum¹s exhibit, En Pointe!, which explores the
history, myths, and reality behind pointe shoes. Over 75 guests stood in
line patiently waiting their turn to meet and speak with Wendy Whelan, Megan
Fairchild, and Amar Ramasar. A limited number of photos of each principal
dancer were available for guests at no charge to get autographed, but the
fans came prepared; many arrived with armfuls of dance memorabilia ready to
be filled with signatures.
 
Wendy, Megan, and Amar all took their time with each visitor, talking to
them about different ballets and their favorite performances. Young
ballerinas took plenty of photos with the dancers, loving the chance to be
so close to their inspirations! Wendy Whelan, who is featured in the
museum's exhibit, took time after the signing to pose next to her display
and to also take photos of the whole exhibit.
