ROUND LAKE AUDITORIUM HOSTS SUMMER DRAMA PROGRAM
Sassy Cats and Dazzling Ducks

Round Lake, NY-July 24, 2012- Carpe Diem Productions is back for a second summer at the Round Lake Auditorium. Following a successful first year with their production of Disney's Alice in Wonderland Jr., the Summer Stars return to the auditorium to produce Honk! Jr., a musical version of "The Ugly Duckling." In addition to the Summer Stars program which is open to students entering grades 7-10, the production company created a new program called The Carpe Diem Kids, due to great demand from younger children. The Carpe Diem Kids is open to area children entering grades 3-6 and will be performing Disney's The AristoCats Kids. Children from Latham, Round Lake, Malta, Ballston Spa, Malta, Saratoga, and Corinth are working together to put on shows open to the community.

Disney's The AristoCats Kids and Honk! Jr. will be presented as a double feature for the low price of $5.00 per person. The program will run about an hour and forty five minutes, which includes an intermission. Three performances will be offered: Friday, August 3rd at 7:00 and Saturday, August 4th at 1:00 and 7:00. All shows are at the Round Lake Auditorium, at the heart of the historic village of Round Lake.

The staff includes Director Heather Ferlo, Choreographer Alexandra van den Heever, Music Director Brady Walsh, Stage Manager Justin MacFarlane, and Production Assistant Michael Camelo. Ballston Spa Middle School teacher, Joseph Shaver is the owner and producer of Carpe Diem Productions. Mr. Shaver also directs and produces shows for Launching Pad Productions at the Ballston Spa Middle School, recently producing the musical Annie this past winter.

Fourth Place winner of Best of Fair at the Saratoga County Fair, Logan Brownell, is featured in Disney's The AristoCats Kids and Third Place winner of Best of Fair, Ellie Frantz, plays the villain in Honk! Jr.

Both musicals have great lessons about being proud of who you are. You don't want to miss this opportunity to see such wonderful, local talent in such a beautiful venue!
