THETHEATRE COMPANY at HUBBARD HALL PRESENTS JOHN STEINBECK’S HEARTBREAKING ‘OF MICEAND MEN,’ APRIL 24 – MAY 18 
 
CAMBRIDGE,NY (April 21, 2014)— Theaward-winning Theatre Company at Hubbard Hall (TCHH) will present JohnSteinbeck’s Of Mice and Men, aheartbreaking story of a pair of farm workers pursuing a dream in 1930s’ ruralCalifornia, April 24 – May 18.
 
Based on Steinbeck’s novel of the samename (which was widely banned at the time of its release during the Depression),Of Mice and Men is the story of two migrantlaborers, Lennie, a gentle but volatile giant of a man, and George, his lovingcaretaker.
 
TCHH veteranJeannine Haas will direct, with Chris Barlow and James Udom undertaking theparts of Lennie and George. Other roles will be playedby Jack Boggan, Rob Forgett, Reg Jones, Rob Rowe, Doug Ryan, Maizy Scarpa,Brian Smick and Albert Vedesca.
 
“Steinbeck’sgreat achievement is that he brings much of the tragic beauty found in suchantecedents as Beowulf and Frankenstein right into our ownbackyard, to American farms,” said TCHH Artistic Director John Hadden.
 
OfMice and Men’s productionstaff includes Calvin Anderson as lighting designer, Sherry Rincella as costumeconsultant, and Kate Johnson as stage manager.
 
There will be13 performances of Of Miceand Men, April 24 (Pay What You Will / Open Rehearsal) at 8 p.m., April25, 26 and May 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 and 17 at 8 p.m.; and April 27 and May 4, 11 and18 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $22 for Hubbard Hall members, $25 for non-members and$15 for students and children. An Opening Night Dinner will take place Friday,April 25 at 6 p.m. in the Beacon Feed Studio.
