[Theater Voices]

*Theater Voices *will present its second staged reading production of the
2015-2016 Season: *ART* by Yasmina Reza, translated by Christopher Hampton,
directed by John Romeo.

Performances will be held at Steamer No. 10 Theatre, 500 Western Avenue,
Albany on Friday February 12 at 8:00 pm; Saturday February 13 at 3:00 pm
and 8:00 pm: and Sunday 14 at 3:00 pm. Admission is free. House opens half
hour before curtain.



The question: Is the all white painting a joke or a serious piece of art?


Relationships are challenged in this clever comedy, as three friends are
pulled into a fierce debate over the value of a work of art. The deeply
moving and illuminating conflict threatens to destroy their friendships.
Lines are drawn as bitter, but often humorous arguments, ensue.


 Yasmina Reza, a French playwright, actress, novelist and screenwriter is
best known for her plays *Art* and *God of Carnage*. *ART*, Reza’s
international hit, is the recipient of a Laurence Olivier Award, a Moliere
Award and a Tony Award. Described by The New York Post *“…wildly funny,
naughtily provocative...” *and by the Independent (London)* “…funny,
sophisticated, stylish.”*


Actor/Director/Filmmaker John Romeo will direct this production.


Featured in the cast are David Baecker, David Bunce, and David Girard

Theater Voices of Albany is a group of dedicated actors and directors who,
throughout the company’s history, have presented both new and classic works
with the specific goal of emphasizing the richness of the playwrights’
language. Each production is a fully performed staged reading, with minimal
scenery and simple costumes.
