Town Players of Pittsfield continues its Sunday Reading Series on September 25 at 2pm at the Whitney Center for the Arts, 42 Wendell Avenue in Pittsfield. 


The afternoon will begin with a reading of "Phaedra" written and read by Richard Matturro. This is from his collection "Porch of the Maidens" and answers the question "What happens when a woman falls in love with her husband's grown son?"


Following "Phaedra" will be a staged reading of "Flowers for Algernon", adapted by David Rogers from the book by Daniel Keyes and directed by Thomas Suski. In this one-act play, Charlie Gordon who has a low IQ of 68 has his life changed with an experimental surgery that makes him smarter than he could ever imagine. The cast includes Jerry Greene, Stephanie Disbrow, C.J. Morgan, Patricia Duckworth and Dana Grieb.


Admission is $5.
