[Capdist-announce] SLCA Celebrates the Women's Suffrage Movement with "Forward into the Light" Concert - Nov 11

On Saturday, Nov 11 at 8pm, Sand Lake Center for the Arts presents  "Forward
into Light," a special Concert to commemorate the Women's Suffrage Movement
in New York State.   

With enlightening narrative, and songs that women sang during the suffrage
movement between 1848 and 1920, this dynamic, two act concert tells the
story of how American

women won the right to vote. This brings the suffrage songs back where they
belong in American music, important documents of protest and rhetorical
thought. We hear their voices, strong, persuasive, and determined to make a
difference in the America of the future. This not to be missed performance
performed by Old Songs, featuring a cast of nine singers and musicians: Greg
Artzner, Dan Duggan, Terry Leonino, Peggy Lynn, Annie Rosen, Bill
Spence,Toby Stover, Susan Trump and George Wilson. This event is sponsored,
in part, by a Humanities New York Action Grant. Tickets $20. Adults and $10.
