CALENDAR 2019-2020

Broadway Bound by Neil Simon
September 5 – 28, 2019 | Saturday Matinee: September 14, 2019
The conclusion to the veteran comic playwright’s memory plays, this story finds Eugene and his brother Stanley trying to break into show business as comedy writers in the late 1940s.

The Outsider by Paul Slade Smith
October 17 – November 29, 2019 | Saturday Matinee: October 26, 2019
A brainy, but awkward political wonk is unexpectedly thrust into the position of governor of a small state. Aside from the fact that he’s terrified of public speaking, has no political instincts and abysmal poll numbers, he’s perfect! A hilarious comedy that also manages to celebrate democracy.

Greetings by Tom Dudzick
December 5 – 21, 2019 | Saturday Matinee: December 14, 2019
Celebrate the holidays with this festive comedy about a young man who brings home his Jewish atheist fiancée to meet his very Catholic parents at Christmas. An otherworldly miracle manages to bring them all together

Ben Butler by Richard Strand
January 23 – February 8, 2020 | Saturday Matinee: February 1, 2020
In 1861 when a runaway slave demands sanctuary at a Union Army garrison, the hapless General Butler must decide whether to uphold the letter of the law or choose to alter the course of U.S. history. This splendid play manages to be part historical drama, part biography and part comedy all at the same time.

Switzerland by Joanna Murray-Smith
February 27 – March 14, 2020 | Saturday Matinee: March 7, 2020
This psychological thriller depicts the story of an actual Grande Dame of crime literature who is visited in her lonely home in Switzerland by an emissary from her publisher. During the course of the play, her love of fictional murders becomes a dangerous reality.

An Act of God by David Javerbaum
April 2 – 25, 2020 | Saturday Matinee: April 11, 2020
Deliriously funny and clever, in ninety minutes (and after many millennia), this play features God answering some of mankind’s deepest questions and also setting the record straight on many of the challenging and banal issues which have plagued mankind forever. A Broadway hit!

Over the River and Through the Woods by Joe DiPietro
May 14 – June 13, 2020 | Saturday Matinee: May 23, 2020
This is the story of a set of two very devoted Italian-American grandparents from New Jersey, who will do anything to keep their beloved grandson near them rather than see him accept a job in Seattle. A poignant, funny play whose story about love of family resonates with us all.

TBA
