AUDITIONS FOR:  THE RODEO OF LOVE
       Play, Music & Lyrics by James Pentaudi
       Directed by Patrick Doyle
   
  Presented by The Great Room Theatre ~ 13 Leonard Street (Route 32) ~ Gansevoort, NY 12831
   
  Audition Dates: Sunday, May 20, 2-5 p.m. & Monday, May 21, 7-10 p.m,
   
  Production Dates July 28 - Aug. 12
   
   
  Synopsis:  In the small town of Armadillo, Texas, the world of Rodeo & Talk Radio collide when an overly shy bull-rider enlists the help of a sassy radio celebrity to learn how to woo the girl of his dreams.
   
  Romantic/Comedy - Please bring 16 bars of a broadway musical show piece.  Be prepared to dance and/or sing.
   
   
  15 characters - 7men/ 6 women/ 1 boy/ 1 girl - between the ages of 8 - 60 - breakdown is listed below.
   
  Nat: 20-28 - main character- singer, some dance.  A good looking bull-riding Texan champion, slim built, very shy and awkward in his social skills.
   
  Jenny: 18-25 - main character - singer, some dance.  Beautiful older daughter of a rich banker, intelligent college grad, yet a blue jean kind of girl ... stubborn, willful but, idealistic.
   
  Parley: 30-40 - main character - singer, some dance.  Combination of Dr. Phil and Howard Stern.  Radio celebrity who gives advice to the poor sick souls suffering from a disease called Love.
   
  Helene: 30-50 - some song & dance - comedic.  Former Vegas showgirl who thought she was being courted by a rich Texan.
   
  Percy: 35-55 - some song & dance - comedic.  Western corporate type hen-pecked by 4 women living in his mansion.
   
  Mother: 50-60 - some song & comedic.  Mother of Percy, forgetful and always looking for her teeth and hearing aid.
   
  Bonnie: 8-12 - some song, dance and comedic.  mischievous clone of Helene.  They dress alike and she follows her mother around the house, mimicking her with an irritating echo.
   
  Gimpy: 30-45 - rodeo clown who is an intelligent, caring sort and always in costume.
   
  Trot: 18-30 - song, dance.  Friend of Nat's with a tough edge and not beyond sarcasm or a good fight.  Additional role as a male caller and chorus.
   
  Chute: 18-30 - singer, dancer who is a calf roper and steer wrestler and not the brightest in the bunce.  In love with Belinda, friendly and light hearted.  Additional roles as a bus driver and chorus.
   
  Belinda: 18-30 - singer, dancer who is a sexy, flirtatious barrel-chaser and wishes to become a country music star.  Additional roles as a rodeo announcer and chorus.
   
  Lawyer: 30-50 - singer, some dance.  Owns a popular bar and having an affair with one of his waitresses with a bit of a checkered past.  Additional role is as a radio announcer.
   
  Bevo: 8-13 - singer, some dance - son of lawyer who acts like a 40 year old and idolizes the cowboys and quite the charmer.
   
  Adora: 20-30 - singer & dancer - waitress at the popular bar.  Additional roles as female caller and chorus.
   
  Lizzie: 30-40 - singer.  The love of Parley's life, first wife but left when their baby died.

  Directions:  I-87 North to Exit 15 - right off exit onto Rt. 50 - follow Rt. 50 to the very end (approximately 8.8 miles).  Road will split, bear left onto Schuylerville Road (Route 32).  Stewarts on left, cross over railroad tracks and take immediate right following Route 32.  Great Room Theatre is a converted church located on the left.  Parking available.
