Prepare a brief monologue from a contemporary drama.

Please bring Picture and Résumé, stapled together.

The Puritan purge of witchcraft in old Salem. A timely parable of our contemporary society.

Production Dates: April - May 2007

Director: Maggie Mancinelli - Cahill

Seeking:

5 Males:

Rev. Parris (40's) - Arrogant, but internally insecure; well-educated and well-meaning, but bound to the status quo, craves public recognition and approval.

John Proctor (mid 30's-40's) - Attractive, intelligent, practical, inherently astute about human nature. Unpretentious. A sensual man. Sturdy build - works with his hands. Great capacity for love.

Rev. John Hale (30s) - Well-bred, attractive. His deep intelligence will ultimately win over his need to conform. His bearing and demeanor stand in contrast to Rev. Parris.

Judge Hathorne - (40s-60s) Aristocratic and patrician. Upper class in manner and speech (the most "English" of the colonists in the play). Lives in a black and white world.

4 Females:

Abigail Williams: (20s) Chameleon: sultry and seductive, she can also appear to be completely innocent. Sensual.

Tituba (20s-40s) - Excitable, fun, lovable, somewhat child-like, superstitious. Barbados native - speaks with islands accent.

Ann Putnam (40s) - Deeply disturbed, bitter, a force. Her losses have left her bereft of heart. Hers is a burden that she likes to share with the world.

Elizabeth Proctor - (30s) Attractive and seemingly introverted. A woman trapped between her sensual needs and her inability to express them. Perhaps damaged by upbringing and the pressures of the community, Elizabeth has something inside that makes her John Proctor's soulmate, but externally, she appears inarticulate, swimming in ambiguity.
