[Capdist-auditions] Auditions Scheduled For Upcoming Season

[Cohoes Music Hall]

C-R Productions at Cohoes Music Hall announces auditions for the first
half of the 2007 – 2008 Season. Auditions will be held at the Music Hall
on Saturday July 21.

C-R Productions wants to cast talent from the upstate area for all
productions, as well as actors from New York City. UNION AFFILIATION NOT
NECESSARY. All performers are paid and also receive complimentary tickets.

Casting the following productions:

1st PRODUCTION (announced July 20)
- Strong male and female jazz dancers
- Principal roles being cast will be listed at audition

MISS SAIGON
- Young men and women who sing well  (high school seniors and college
students)
- Asian male and female performers for all principal roles including Kim,
Thuy, and Engineer
- Young man, tenor voice, in his 20's for the role of Chris
- 3 or 4 year old Asian boy for the role of Tam (non-singing role)

WHITE CHRISTMAS
- Strong male and female tap dancers, all ages
- Male and female singers who move well, all ages
- Principal roles being cast will be listed at audition


Singers prepare 32 bars of a standard Broadway song.
Bring sheet music. No contemporary songs.

Dancers bring tap and jazz shoes. Be prepared to dance first.
Bring 32 bars of a standard Broadway song, if asked to sing. No
contemporary songs.

**NO CHILDREN NEED TO ATTEND THIS AUDITION
Children’s audition will be scheduled end of September for White Christmas.

C-R Productions is currently interviewing for the following production staff:


MASTER CARPENTER
Candidates must have a basic understanding of stage mechanics, welding and
electrical work, strong carpentry skills as well as good project
management, communication, and record-keeping skills. Candidates should be
self-motivated, innovative, and enjoy working in a creative environment.
Candidates should possess the ability to work with a wide variety of
people and be able to adapt to an ever changing environment. Should also
be available to possibly work the night and weekend theatre schedule. Full
time position.


ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGER/PROPS MASTER
The ASM/Props Master is responsible for all props for each production,
supervising all rehearsals, serves as the primary liaison between
Production Manager and theatre staff, oversees stage, performers and crew
during the run of a show.


SPOTLIGHT OPERATORS/STAGE CREW
Two spot light operators needed for each production. Sixteen performances
of each production (Thurs. – Sun.), plus tech week rehearsals required.
Perfect job for high school and college students. Previous experience not
required. Will train.


BOX OFFICE MANAGER & ASSISTANT BOX OFFICE MANAGER
Full time positions available immediately. Responsibilities: Manage all
aspects of a growing tickets sales operation, generate year-round
communication with subscribers and single ticket buyers; create and manage
relationships with external ticket venues, concierges, box offices; manage
mailing lists, coordinate with House Manager; update phone messages.
Assistant Box Office manager will work closely with the Box Office Manager
on a daily basis. Qualifications: Proven track record with ticketing
software, e-mail marketing, excel and word, and supervising a staff. The
perfect candidates must have a passion for fast-paced dynamic work; have
excellent verbal and written skills. Must be able to work evenings and
possible weekends.

Seeking designers to design, oversee build, and assist with build of all
productions. Excellent personal, organizational and communication skills a
must. Proven ability to motivate, manage and coordinate staff members of
varying skill levels. Competitive salary.


CUTTER/DRAPER
Full time position. All aspects of patterning, cutting and draping; strong
skills needed for fast, accurate work. Work closely with designers on six
productions. Full time or part time position.
