Meet Me in St. Louis is a lively, romantic musical comedy that takes place
at the turn of the century before the first World’s Fair

 

 Roles and Approximate Ages


Mr. Alonso Smith - 

40-60, befuddled father and lawyer


Mrs. Anna Smith - 

40-60, good and loving mother


Lon Smith -

18-25, aspiring Princeton freshman


Rose Smith -

16-25, beautiful and chic daughter


Esther Smith -

16-23, lively and attractive daughter


Agnes Smith -

8-13, spirited tomboy


Tootie Smith - 

6-11, bright and active girl


Grandpa Prophater - 

over 50, a Civil War veteran


Katie -

30’s-60’s, the Smith’s spunky Irish cook


John Truitt -

16-25, handsome athletic boy next door


Warren Sheffield -

20’s, an eligible young man from a rich family


Lucille Ballard -

16-25, a sophisticated and charming young lady

Clinton Badger, PeeWee Drummond, Sidney Purvis - awkward, bumbling young men

Ensemble members of all ages including Eve (Lon’s date), the Postman
(middle-aged Irish man), the trolley car driver, trolley passengers, party
guests, and ballroom dancers

 

Production dates May 30, 31, June 1, 6, 7, 8

  

Rehearsals will take place on weekday evenings (6:30 p.m.) or on weekends.
We will have one meeting in February and will begin regular rehearsals in
March.  Initially we’ll be rehearsing 1 to 3 times per week and we will
increase to 4-5 rehearsals per week by the end of May.  

 

Please bring a song to auditions that shows the strength of your voice as
well as your vocal range. You may bring your own accompanist if you wish
(optional). Our accompanist will be glad to play for you (in the key the
song is written; no transposing).

Sand Lake Center for the Arts - Circle Theatre Players, 

is a not for profit community arts center.  

The Center is a renovated, historically significant 1835 church 

with a fully equipped open performing space for theatrical productions, 

community meetings, concerts, workshops and classes; and is available for
rent.

The light-filled Gallery boasts original stained glass windows 

and exhibits artists' work monthly and is open on Sundays from 1-4pm. 

The Gallery and Cafe are open one hour prior to events.
