At the Spa LittleTheatre, Saratoga Spa State Park
In Ira Levin’s “Deathtrap”. Playwright Sidney Bruhl and hiswife attempt to steal his young protégé’s perfectly-written mystery in order tosalvage his sagging career. But nothingis as it seems in this clever and always surprising comedy/thriller that shocksand entertains in equal doses. “Deathtrap”was the longest-running mystery in Broadway history and was also produced as afilm starring Michael Caine, Christopher Reeve and Dyan Cannon.
Character Description
Sidney Bruhl – Struggling playwright; early to mid-fifties;well-educated; arrogant; driven by jealousy. Actor must be in good shape to handle physical demands of the role. Stage combat experience helpful.
Myra Bruhl – Sidney’s wife; late forties to early fifties;educated; strong ethical sense; somewhat frail with heart condition.
Clifford Anderson – Sidney’sprotégé; late twenties to early thirties; polite; good-looking; educated. Actor must be in good shape to handlephysical demands of the role. Stagecombat experience helpful.
Helga ten Dorp – The psychic; late fifties to earlyseventies; thick Dutch accent; eccentric; very sure of herself.
Porter Milgrim – Bruhl’s lawyer; early fifties tomid-sixties; educated; dry wit; very observant; humor.
Scripts will be available, prior to auditions, at TheSaratoga Public Library reference Desk.
For the audition: No appointment is necessary, auditionswill be from the script

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE: Monday-Thursday evenings (7-10pm) and Sunday afternoon or evening beginningSunday, January 3rd.
PRODUCTION DATES: Weekends, February 12-28, 2010
