Spotlight Players Community Theater, Inc. is looking for 5 or 6 more Ensemble members for it's summer production of The Producers.  No dancing required.  Minimal commitment until July.  Call The Producers Producer, Joanne Peal at 659-9421.
 
Performances are scheduled for July 23-25, 29—31 and August 1.
 
The Producersis a comedy-musical adapted by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan from Brooks' 1968 film of the same name, with lyrics by Brooks and music by Brooks and Glen Kelly. As in the film, the story concerns two theatrical producers who scheme to get rich by overselling interests in a Broadway flop. Complications arise when the show unexpectedly turns out to be successful. The humor of the show is accessible to a wide range of audiences, and draws on ridiculous accents, over the top caricatures of homosexuals and Nazis, and many show business in-jokes.  The musical opened on April 19, 2001 and ran for 2,502 performances, winning a record-breaking 12 Tony Awards.
  This initial show of our 2009-2010 seasons will be just the beginning of a full season of local community theater musical premiers, cabarets and play readings of new works —stay tuned for more information!
