[Capdist-auditions] SCP announces auditions for BEAU JESTE 11/10 & 12

Schenectady Civic Players will hold auditions for their upcoming production of BEAU JESTE on Tuesday and Thursday, November 10 and 12 at the playhouse, 12 South Church Street in downtown Schenectady.  Sign-ups begin at 7:00 p.m.  Auditions begin at 7:30 p.m.  No prepared material necessary.  Actors will read directly from the script.
 
SYNOPSIS:
 
When Sarah Goldman, a lovely young school teacher in Chicago, wants to please her parents, she invents a boyfriend whom she believes will be the man of her mother's dreams. When her parents insist on meeting the man, Sarah hires Bob, an actor, to pretend to be her "beau". The masquerade works flawlessly for a time and brings comic situations, but in the end, their lives are irrevocably changed
 
AVAILABLE ROLES:
 
SARAH (25-30): lovely, young, and close to her mother, father and older 
brother, so much that she creates a fictitious boyfriend in her hopes to make her parents happy.  
 
BOB (25-30): a young actor who makes ends meet by serving as an escort when he's not on stage or waiting on tables.  Affable and very willing to help Sarah pull off the masquerade.
 
CHRIS 25-30): Sarah's real boyfriend, unhappy that he has to wait in the wings while Bob acts out his part.
 
JOEL (30-35): Sarah's older brother, an analytical psychologist who never misses the opportunity to scrutinize.
 
MIRIAM GOLDMAN (55-65): a loving mother, a mixture of Old World and the New, who wants the best for her children; she is quite taken by Sarah's "catch".
 
ABE GOLDMAN(55-65): a loving father and smart businessman who thrives on life's simple pleasures, like finding a good parking spot.
 
Production dates: Jan. 29-31, 2010 and Feb. 3-7, 2010.
