Seeking actors for A CHRISTMAS STORY, SHIPWRECKED, KINGDOM OF THE SHORE.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------

A CHRISTMAS STORY by Philip Grecian. Based on the iconic motion picture of
the same name. Jean Shepherd's hilarious memoir of growing up in the
Midwest of the 1940s follows the quest of Young Ralphie to get his heart's
desire for Christmas: a Red Ryder BB gun. The tale is told by a narrator
who is Ralphie grown up.

Directed by: Maggie Mancinelli-Cahill

Starts rehearsals: Nov. 2, First Preview: Nov. 26, Closes: Jan. 2

Seeking:

Ralph, 40s, Ralphie grown up. Funny, versatile and warm, Ralph is the
character who takes us into the world of the play. Actor must be vocally
and physically versatile to play several parts in the story.

The Old Man, 40s-50s, Ralphie's dad. Blue collar, good provider who is
fairly obsessed with contests, leg lamps and the broken-down furnace in the
cellar. Needs great comic timing -by playing it straight.

Mom, 30s-40s: Ralphie's mom. Understanding, burdened housewife who loves
her husband and kids above all else, who hums along in life cooking oatmeal,
meatloaf and cabbage. She can overlook most anything and does, but embraces
all the values of a good Midwest upbringing.

Miss Shields, 30s-40s: Ralphie's teacher. Versatile comedian. Miss
Shields persona lives in the minds of the kids. She is the sweetest
teacher, all sweetness and light and the Wicked Witch of the East.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------

SHIPWRECKED: The Amazing Adventures of Louis De Rougemont (As Told by
Himself) by Donald Margulies. Louis DeRougemont, 19th Century swashbuckling
rogue of high adventure on the seas, has come to the theatre to regale
audiences with his personal memoirs. He and his two assistants create
florid stories about his experiences with sea creatures, pirates, deep pearl
diving and giant turtles. These tall tales may be true or not, but they are
all delightful in the telling - all rendered with the mechanics of theatre -
as the playwright describes, "alternately thrilling and cheesy."

Directed by: Terence Lamude

First rehearsal: Dec. 28, 2010, First Preview: January 20, closes Feb. 13,
2011.

Seeking:

Louis DeRougemont: (60s) Charismatic, agile and utterly incorrigible.
Actor must have verbal and physical dexterity - and stamina. Shakespeare
experience a plus.

Male 2: (20s-40s) Plays a variety of parts from shipmates, to the dog, to
sea monsters and pearl divers, to audience hecklers, etc. Actor should have
a great sense of fun, comic timing, verbal and physical dexterity.

Female 1: (20s-30s) Also plays a variety of parts from Mother, to exotic
woman to shipmate to pearl diver to hecklers, etc. Actor should have a
great sense of comedy and verbal and physical dexterity.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------

KINGDOM OF THE SHORE (world premiere) by Terence Lamude. This comedy-drama
chronicles a summer in Southampton when three sisters reunite to discuss
about what to do with the family home. As their lives and differing values
unfold, they realize that they have been sharing more than just memories
with each other. One thing leads to another when these second generation
Irish women exchange secrets that jangle the skeletons in the closet.

Directed by: Maggie Mancinelli-Cahill

Starts rehearsals: Mar 29, First preview: Apr. 22, Closes May 15, 2011.

Seeking:

Clare: (60s) The oldest sister. The decorator. Everything must be just so
- in other words, her way. She's the instigator of the house sale and has
made sure the vote is fixed.

Delia (early 50s): Proud of her Irish heritage and how far the family has
come. Wickedly funny and wry. Dislikes anything that smacks of
"Euro-trash," including all of her new Southampton neighbors. She's not
going to give up the old ways or the house without one hellava fight.

Joan (mid-late 50s): Spinster sister. Content to be with the family. Most
capable of "going along." A bit unstructured and of the earth. Lacks
ambition and is just fine being that way - but now, as a woman of a certain
age, she's lonely. Kathy Bates type.

Cathleen (early 50s): The artiste. Well kept, well-groomed and well
heeled. Successful gallery owner. Enjoys the finer things of life - good
wine, good art and a good man - even if he's her sister's husband. Likes
money and what it stands for - not concerned about being Irish or anything
else for that matter. The most contemporary sister.

Nick (early 50s): Successful. Restless. Caught in a world of women
without really knowing which way to turn. Has regrets for his
unfaithfulness. A man who can't move forward or backward.
