GREETINGS, CAPITAL DISTRICT ARTS COMMUNITY!
 
Geraldine Loppe(pictured above) is a coworker of mine at the Century House. She is a native of Haiti, and she and her husband Clarens' families have been personally affected by this tragedy. 
 
Geraldine is organizing the "CAPITAL REGION HOPE FOR HAITI GALA", sponsored by and taking place at the Century House on Saturday February 6, 2010, 6-10PM. There's not much time to pull this together. She is seeking performers of all kinds to help make this an exciting and successful event. All performers will be considered.
 
Location and food will be provided by Century House. There will be a cash bar. To help create a festive atmosphere she is seeking acts that can stroll and pop up for a performance at any spot in the room. COLORFUL COSTUMES ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED!!!:
 
SINGERS(groups or single, a capella or lightly accompanied)
DANCERS(There will  be lots of dancing! Geraldine and Clarens are professional dancers. Clarens teaches dance at Arthur Murray)
JUGGLERS
ACROBATS
SMALL ACTING GROUPS(NO SETS)
STORYTELLERS(perhaps someone who can put together some traditional Haitian folk tales?)
ARTISTS(painting demonstrations, face painting, etc.)
SELF-CONTAINED ACTS
 
ANY OTHER IDEAS ARE ENCOURAGED AND WILL BE AND GRATEFULLY CONSIDERED!!!
 
The comittee is courting the press for this event, but if anyone can help in this area, please conact Geraldine. And tell all your friends! And come on out to the GALA!!!
