Curtain Call Theatre in Latham , NY will hold auditions for 
CALIFORNIA SUITE by Neil Simon 
directed by Cindy Brizzell-Bates 
  
Tuesday, May 25th and Wednesday, May 26th at 7pm 
Auditions will be held at the theater, 210 Old Loudon Rd , Latham.

California Suite is a comedy that ruminates on relationships and life as couples from Philadelphia, London, and Chicago arrive in California, and separately inhabit a Beverly Hills hotel suite bringing all their wacky “baggage” with them. 
  
Information about the auditions: 

Auditions will be conducted with sides from the script. Actors are encouraged to read the script before coming to auditions (not required).
Actors should plan to use accents in auditions where needed. 
Rehearsals will begin in mid-July and will typically be on Sun-Wed evenings (although other days and times are possible). 
The production runs Thursdays through Sundays, September 10th through October 9th. 
  
Characters: 
We are planning to cast two women (40s) and two men (40s) to play the following roles.  
  
Men: 
Marvin Michaels – a husband, father, and business man from Philadelphia who needs to find a way to tell his wife that he woke up with a prostitute in his bed. 
  
Sidney Nichols – the British husband of a fairly famous actress; he has recently begun to be more open about his homosexuality – including at the Academy Awards ceremony! 
  
Mort Hollender – the happily married husband of Beth Hollender; Mort is from Chicago and for him, a good vacation includes lots of Japanese restaurants and not a lot of tennis. 
  
Stu Franklyn – the happily married husband of Gert Franklyn; Stu is also from Chicago and for him, a good vacation includes lots of tennis and not a lot of Japanese restaurants. 
  
Women: 
Millie Michaels – the wife of Marvin Michaels who came to California from Philadelphia for a family bar mitzvah and a little get-away with her husband only to discover that her husband spent the night with a prostitute. 
  
Bunny – the prostitute from California in Marvin Michaels’ hotel room bed. 
  
Diana Nichols – a British actress who has been nominated for her first Academy Award; she only wishes that her husband’s wandering eyes would stay focused on her during the Academy Awards ceremony. 
  
Beth Hollender – the happily married wife of Mort Hollender who seriously injures her ankle while playing doubles tennis with her husband and friends from Chicago . 
  
Gert Franklyn – also from Chicago , Gert is the happily married wife of Stu Franklyn who also enjoys a good game of doubles tennis.
