Stageworks is holding Equity Principal Audtions (EPA)for our 2010 
season.  Attached and copied below is our casting notice.

Non Equity actors are also welcome to audition if time permits.  We are 
interested in getting the word out to regional actors and would 
appreciate it if you could broadcast or post this announcement to 
theater artists.

or will she?  Aphra has until morning to finish writing the first play 
ever penned by a woman, but with so many lovers clamoring for attention 
– suave King Charles II, celebrated actress Nell Gywnne and vengeful 
double agent William Scott – time is running out.

In Liz Duffy Adam’s bawdy comedy, cross dressing, free love and politics 
converge and skip  centuries, bringing to hilarious mind the freedom and 
adventure of the 1960's.

A play of intrigue and mystery, in this fictional memoir of Bernard 
Madoff, the now-notorious Ponzi schemer finds himself, before the fall, 
entangled in the memory of a profound, psychologically erotic evening 
spent with a venerable author, humanitarian and Holocaust survivor.

In the presence of th righteous, will Madoff succumb to the inner force 
that yearns for a redemptive moment. . .or is he too numb to any state 
of sanctity to push back the obstacles that stand in his way of a moral 
decision?

Seeking actors to play:

BERNARD MADOFF: A 72-year old billionaire financier, inventor, Jewish 
money maven, financial criminal

SOLOMON GALKIN: Novelist, between 70 to 80 years old, holocaust 
survivor, humanitarian, professor, lifelong witness

A SECRETARY: 42 or so, sincere, hard-working, pleasant-looking, dutiful, 
bloated with remorse

Please note: The actors playing Madoff and Sol may be cast younger than 
the ages of the actual characters.

Through the innocent voice of Velda, a young Amish girl, unfolds an 
extraordinarily beautiful  fictional exploration of true events.  The 
Amish Project tells the story of a loss in an Amish community and the 
path of compassion forged in its wake.

Imbued with poetry, humor and beauty, The Amish Project celebrates the 
deepest meanings of love and forgiveness.

Seeking an actress age 25 to 35.  A single actress performs all of the 
roles in the play. Distinctions between characters are made by changes 
in the tonal qualities and pitch of the actress’ voice; through her 
stance, posture, and gesture. She glides fluidly from one personality to 
the next as:

ANNA: Amish girl, age 14. Died in the shooting.

CAROL STUCKEY: Widow of the gunman, age 31. English/non-Amish.

VELDA: Amish girl, age 6. Sister of Anna. Died in shooting.

BILL NORTH: English/non-Amish man, 50s. Scholar and professor on Amish 
culture, as well as
friend and spokesman to several Amish families affected by the shooting.

AMERICA: Hispanic girl, age 16. Pregnant. Works in the local grocery store.

EDDIE STUCKEY: The gunman of schoolhouse shooting, age 33. 
English/non-Amish. Killed
himself at the end of the schoolhouse attack.

SHERRY LOCAL: English, age 53. Resident of Nickel Mines, PA.
