STC is looking for an adult performer, who is available during the day, to play the part of Hector in this season’s delightfully funny musical, It’s Raining Tamales!. Tamales will be performed at approximately 35 elementary schools and libraries in and around the Capital District from March thru April 2011. Rehearsals begin in January.
A non-profit adult volunteer drama company, The Schenectady Theater for Children is dedicated to bringing professional quality live theater to area children during the school day.
It’s Raining Tamales! by local playwright, composer, and lyricist, Kit Goldstein, is based on a Mexican folk tale about a woodcutter, Hector, and his wife who have been poor all their lives, until one day Hector stumbles across a bag of money hidden in a tree. His wife realizes that it must have been hidden by robbers, and tells him to keep quiet about it, but he insists they should spread the word around in the hope of finding the original owner.
If you are available and interested or if you have any questions, please contact Criss at 312-6883.
