Class Act Productions Presents: Auditions for Laughter on the 23rd Floor

Audition info: Auditions will be held on Tuesday,  Dec. 7th at 7pm and Thursday,  Dec. 9th at 7pm with callbacks on Friday, Dec. 10th at 7pm at the Rexford United Methodist Church; 18 Main St; Rexford, NY.  Off Balltown Rd. between Rte. 146 and the Rexford bridge.
 
Synopsis: Inspired by Simon's early career experience as a junior jokesmith (along with his brother Danny) for "Your Show of Shows", the play focuses on Sid Caesar/Jackie Gleason-like Max Prince, the star of a weekly comedy-variety show circa 1953, and his staff, including Simon's alter-ego Lucas Brickman, who maintains a running commentary on the writing, fighting, and wacky antics which take place in the writers' room. At the plot's core is Max's ongoing battles with NBC executives who fear his humor is too sophisticated for Middle America.

Please prepare a 1-2 minute comedic monologue.  There will also be readings from the script.  Please provide a headshot and resume if possible.  Auditioners may be asked to come to callbacks on Friday, Dec. 10th at 7pm. Rehearsals will start in January and the show will be in March of 2011.
