Northeast Ballet Company seeks an experienced Jazz/Musical Theater instructor for the spring term. 

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

Commitment is from January 2011 - Early June 2011

Must have the ability to teach multiple levels of Jazz classes - from beginner to advanced (Musical theater a plus but not required)

Schedule is flexible. All classes can be scheduled on a single day of the week or can be spread throughout the week. 

Rate:  $50/per class based on experience. 

Instructors have the opportunity to dance in the NEB Company performances if they choose. The spring season includes but is not limited to; 'Stories That Dance' and the annual concert in June 2011

Northeast Ballet Company:
The Northeast Ballet Company, under the direction of Darlene Myers, has been serving the Capital District since 1990. It has had the honor of being the resident company of the historic Proctor's Theater since 1991. The Company's mission is "To cultivate, promote, foster, teach and develop the appreciation, understanding and the love of ballet." The Company is best known throughout the area by its sold-out productions of the Nutcracker performed at Proctor's Theater. This holiday tradition is enjoyed by more than 5,000 people each year. Northeast Ballet Company offers many unique opportunities in addition to performing on the historic stage of Proctor's Theater. It employs New York City Ballet dancers for the Nutcracker providing an opportunity to perform with dancers of the highest caliber. The Company performs at the National Museum of Dance and takes part in WRGB's Melodies of Christmas. They also participate with SPAC for the New York City Ballet events.

Myers School of Ballet:
Myers Ballet School features Classical Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Modern, Tap, and Pas de Deux classes taught in a creative and enjoyable environment. Myers Studio is a training ground for both aspiring and accomplished professionals. The art of classical ballet is taught to students age 5 through prefessional. Classes are offered once a week for beginners. For more serious students classes are offered based on their talent.Some students study as many as six or more classes per week.Their training culminates in an annual recital at the historic Proctor's Theatre. Each summer there is an intensive dance program offered for students age 8 - 20. This program affords performance and choreographic opportunities highlighted by weekly field trips to SPAC.
