Hi there, Mary from SLOC theatre suggested I contact you.  My name is JoAnn Sifo and I own Chez Daisie Creperie on Jay Street, downtown Schenectady.  The Jay Street Business Association will be hosting the 2nd Annual Jay Fest, October 16.  One of the events will be the Schenectady Idol contest.  We are currently searching for contestants.  Below I will paste the information and I will attach the application.  If you could assist us with getting the word out, it would be greatly appreciated.  Many thanks-JoAnn
 
Schenectady Idol---Contestants
 
When: October 16th, 2010 An event of the Second Annual Jay Fest
Location: Jay Street, Schenectady, New York. Stage will be located at corner of Jay Street and State Street. Sound and Lighting will be provided.
Time: Begins at 7pm
Broadcast live on 101.3 FM
$50 contest entrance fee payable before October 1, 2010.
Grand prize: Recording Session (four hours) at Golden Productions Recording Studio, Jay Street, Schenectady, New York
Contestant must be a soloist, provide a CD with recorded music (no vocals on CD) or provide instrument(s) for accompaniment. 
Judging criteria: Singing ability: Timing, Timbre and Pitch

Other Categories: Choice of material appropriate for ability and voice, personality, presentation of material, stage presence, marketability of talent

2nd Annual Jay Fest
When: October 16, 2010 2pm-9pm
Where: Jay Street Marketplace (between State Street and Franklin Street), Schenectady, New York
Free Parking
Events: Live broadcast of Schenectady Idol contest, Equestrian Entertainment will exhibit trick horse back riding and a horse petting corral, Prometheus Orchestra Greek Band, Fotia Hellenic Society Greek Folk Dancers, Bhangra Union South Asian Dancers, Celtic harpist Carol Benner, Bailey and Quinn Celtic Duet, Sons and Daughters of Erin bag pipes, bouncy bounce, kids’ art participation at the Schenectady Library, kids’ sidewalk chalk art participation, vendors, crafters and more.
