Town Players Announces Auditions for “Stop Kiss”

The Town Players of Pittsfield announces auditions for the second production of its
90th season, “Stop Kiss” by Diana Son. Auditions will be held on Monday and
Tuesday, January 24th & 25th from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the 2nd floor ballroom of Jae's
Spice, 297 North Street, Pittsfield.

The Story: "A poignant and funny play about the ways, both sudden and slow, that
lives can change irrevocably," says Variety. After Callie meets Sara, the two
unexpectedly fall in love. Their first kiss provokes a violent attack that
transforms their lives in a way they could never anticipate.

Roles:

Callie: a traffic reporter in NYC, Callie helps Sara learn her way around the city,
and, in the process, develops strong feelings for her.
Sara: having recently moved to NYC as an elementary teacher in the Bronx, she looks
to Callie to learn how to fit in in the Big Apple.
George: Callie's "friend with benefits" he works as a bartender in the city, and is
somewhat bothered by Callie's relationship with Sara.
Peter: Sara's long term boyfriend from back home who still loves Sara and hopes to
convince her to return to St. Louis.
Mrs. Winsley/Nurse: Mrs. Winsley was a witness to the attack against Sara and
Callie. The actress who plays this role usually also plays the small part of Sara's
nurse.
Detective Cole: the detective assigned to Callie and Sara's case. He is the first to
hear the story of what happened to Callie and Sara the night they were attacked.

Auditions will be readings from the provided scripts. This production, directed by
John Trainor, and assistant-directed by Denise Roller, will be performed at Jae's
Spice on the weekends of March 18-20 & 25-27.
