Capital Area Productions presents...

MAY 13th- 15th for 4 performances
to GENET ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in East Greenbush!

HAIRSPRAY delighted audiences by sweeping them away to 1960's Baltimore, where the 50's are out -- and change is in the air. Loveable plus-size heroine, Tracy Turnblad, has a passion for dancing, and wins a spot on the local TV dance program, "The Corny Collins Show." Overnight she finds herself transformed from outsider to teen celebrity. Can a larger-than-life adolescent manage to vanquish the program's reigning princess, integrate the television show, and find true love (singing and dancing all the while, of course!) without mussing her hair?

AUDITIONS TUESDAY, JANUARY 25th!

This production will be cast with both teens (ages 12 and up) and adults! ALL TEEN ROLES ARE AVAILABLE (note that parts MAY be double cast). Tuition for those 18 and under is $175. A $25 non refundable audition fee payable at the time of auditions, that fee will be applied to the tuition due if cast (if not cast fee will be returned). Auditions will be held on TUESDAY, JANUARY 25th from 5:30-8:30pm at St. Marys Church on Columbia Turnpike in East Greenbush. Come prepared to sing, read and possibly dance. Resume and photograph are requested. Forms can be obtained in advance by emailing CAPS at caps at nycap.rr.com. There are approximately 30-40 roles available for this production. Rehearsals are set to begin in March and run weeknights (no Mondays) and weekends through opening. Due to the limited time frame cast must be able to commit to the schedule with only 2 misses. Tentative Schedule will be posted on the website. Not all cast will be needed at every rehearsal. (financial aid or tuition plans may be available, contact CAPS for information)
