C-R PRODUCTIONS ANNOUNCES EXPANSION OF ARTS PROGRAMMING FOR CHILDREN

C-R KIDS THEATRE ACADEMY


C-R Productions at Cohoes Music Hall announced today their plans for C-R Kids Theatre Academy.

With both spring and summer sessions planned, C-R Productions hopes to fill the present void for extra curricular arts activities in the city of Cohoes and the surrounding Capital Region.

The C-R Kids Theatre Academy at Cohoes Music Hall under the direction of Managing Director Tony Rivera and Artistic Director Jim Charles, is the most professional and notable theatre training ground in the Capital Region.  All students will have the opportunity to work alongside high-caliber actors, directors, choreographers, designers, and experienced teaching artists. Courses are typically offered on evenings and weekends throughout the year and summer.

The Spring Academy is a six week intensive training workshop, beginning April 3, 2011.
All courses are held at the Cohoes Music Hall from 10:00 - 2:00pm on Sundays.
Students must be at least 13 years old to attend. Partial Scholarships are available.
Participants will challenge themselves through exploration of scenes and songs, rehearse monologues and stage production numbers
from some of the best musicals of all time and then show off for family and friends on the Cohoes Music Hall stage.

This summer at the Summer Theater Academy students will leave understanding the audition process; have audition songs and age appropriate monologues prepared,
and insight into headshot and resume sessions. Students will rotate between acting, singing, and dancing every day before lunch then rehearse the productions and study master classes with guest teachers in the afternoons. The junior session will culminate in an original performance showcase and the senior session will perform a fully produced musical theatre production.

The first CYA Production is the musical LITTLE WOMEN, June 9-12.
You must be a member of CYA to audition for this production.
