Audition Information:
Please prepare 16 bars of a song from a Broadway musical. No a capella singing.
Please bring a headshot and resume if you have one.
Please bring comfortable clothes as there will be a dance audition as well.
ALL ROLES AVAILABLE!!!!
All performances will be at The Schacht Fine Arts Center on the Russell Sage campus.
Show Dates: July 27-29 and August 2-5, 2012
Rehearsals will begin in June
Synopsis:
Based on the 1988 film, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels centers on two competing con men living on the French Riviera. At first, the suave and experienced Lawrence Jameson takes the rookie con man, Freddy, under his wing. But soon, Freddy tries to compete directly with Lawrence. The competition comes to a peak when they agree that the first con man to extract $50,000 from the female heiress, Christine Colgate, wins and the other must leave town forever.
CAST OF CHARACTERS:
Lawrence (Baritone) - Suave and experienced. Must be able to do an upper crust/British accent and a German/Viennese accent.
Freddy (Tenor) - Rookie Con Man looking to move up.
Andre (Baritone) - Chief of Police and confidant of Lawrence. Must be able to do a French accent.
Muriel (Mezzo-Soprano) - Swindled by Lawrence. Thinks he is royalty.
Jolene (Alto) - Also swindled by Lawrence. From Oklahoma, tries to get him to move with her.
Christine (Soprano) - Female heiress and subject of Freddie and Lawrence's bet.
