AUDITIONS for bare: A Pop Opera
Wednesday, April 18, 5-9 pm
Steamer No. 10 will be producing bare: A Pop Opera as part of its C.A.S.T.
program.
All roles are open for actors, singers, & dancers over the age of 15. We
will strive to cast all roles with performers of the appropriate age, so we
are seeking some adult performers as well as teens. This production involves
mature themes and language. There are no fees to participate in this
production, nor are these paid positions. Cast members may be asked to
assist in fund-raising efforts to help finance the production.
Please prepare 32 bars from a Broadway standard (nothing from the show,
please). Wear comfortable clothing that you can easily move in. Please bring
an 8 x 10 headshot and performance resume if you have them, although they
are not necessary.
Performances will be July 20 & 21 at 7 pm, July 27 & 28 at 7 pm, and July 29
at 2 pm. The first read-through is May 8th. Rehearsals continue May 17th and
22nd, and then Tuesdays and Thursday in June. All rehearsals listed will be
5:30-8 pm. July rehearsal dates and times are TBD.
The Roles:
JASON: handsome golden child of St. Cecilia's senior class
PETER: introspective, Jason's clandestine boyfriend
IVY: pretty, popular, insecure
NADIA: Jason's pudgy, sardonic twin sister
MATT: studious, pious, Jason's academic rival
LUCAS: The school's fun-loving purveyor of altered reality
TANYA: Lucas's girlfriend
KYRA: student, sexy
DIANE: student, very naive
RORY: student, sarcastic
ZACK: student, jock type
ALAN: student, nerdy
CLAIRE: Peter's mother
SR. CHANTELLE: African-American nun, wise, no-nonsense
PRIEST: St. Cecilia's headmaster
ADDITIONAL STUDENTS: three male, three female
This production involves mature themes and language.
