Directed by Karen Christina Jones

We are currently seeking a set designer and stage crew for the screwball farce "The Man Who Came to Dinner"
A lovable misanthrope may be an oxymoron, but it is the only way to describe the character of Sheridan Whiteside in the Hart/Kaufman screwball comedy, The Man Who Came to Dinner. Whiteside, based on the Algonquin Round Table stable Alexander Woollcott, represents the celebrity that everyone wants around but who cannot stand being around people!
Debuting in October 1939, The Man Who Came to Dinner is a paradigm of the entertainment popular in the 1930’s.

Whiteside, stuck in a hick town due to an injury, refuses to conform to his surroundings but rather brings insanity to the lovely hamlet of Mesalia, Ohio. During the holiday season in the quiet home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest W. Stanley, the Whiteside invasion includes cockroaches, convicted murderers, movie stars, penguins and an octopus!

College students and retirees are apply!

Performances : April 20-29 at Proctor's Fenimore Gallery

April 20-21, 26-27 at 7:30
April 22 & 29 at 2:00
