Theater Voices will hold auditions for a staged reading of *Black Tie* by
A.R. Gurney, directed by Judy Spevack



Location:

Steamer No. 10 Theatre, 500 Western Avenue, Albany - corner of West
Lawrence Street.



Times:

Sunday, March 18         7-9pm

Monday, March 19         7-9pm

Actors will be asked to read scenes from the play.

*Please try to arrive on time, and be prepared to stay.*



Cast Breakdown:



Curtis,                      Middle-aged – 50s

Curtis’ Father,          Older            - 70s

Mimi, Curtis’s wife.   Middle-age  - 50s

Elsie, their daughter.   -20s

Teddy, their son          -20s



Synopsis:

The younger generation challenges the lifestyle and values of this upper
middle class W.A.S.P. family as they prepare for a wedding in a not so
traditional setting. Curtis the father of the bridegroom wants to set the
tone for the rehearsal dinner with tuxedos and special toasts. The
“non-traditional” bride has her own ideas. Conflicts develop, secrets are
revealed and warmth and humor prevail.
