Seeking two actors able to play mid to late teens for a staged reading of
"8" by Dustin Lance Black. The play, based on transcripts from the
California "Prop 8" trial, will be performed as a stage reading on Friday
March 22 at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall.
Actors are still needed for the roles of Spencer and Elliott, sons to
plaintiffs Kris Perry and Sandy Stier. The reading will require a very
limited rehearsal schedule. (Please note: All other roles have been cast.)
Auditions will be held on Thursday, Nov 29 at 6pm on the RPI campus in the
Darren Communications Center (DCC) room 318. Readings will be from the
script.
"8" is presented by RPI Community Advocates through the American Federation
of Equal Rights and is co-sponsored by the Pride Center of the Capital
Region.
Directions to the DCC 318:
Park on 15th Street (between Sage Avenue and College Avenue). Walk towards
the footbridge and then walk west over the footbridge to the main campus.
Walk towards the river, passing the RPI Playhouse on the left, and then
enter the CII (next building on the left). You are on the 3rd floor at that
point. Continue to walk straight through the glass doors ahead of you into
the next building, which is the DCC. Continue to walk straight, and then
around the curved hallway to the left. Room 318 will be on the left,
several doors down.
